FMTS Community Grant Agreement and Application 2026
The Fort Myer Thrift Shop (FMTS) awards community grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide a service and/or support to military personnel, veterans, and their families in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The Internal Revenue Service determines the eligibility of a public charity or private foundation for Federal tax exemption and other benefits under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The FMTS Community Grant Committee welcomes 501(c)(3) organizations to submit online community grant applications in 2026. If your organization has problems submitting community grant requests online, please let us know. Email your questions to [email protected] or call the FMTS at 703-527-0664 during normal business hours. The thrift shop is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 10 AM to 2:30 PM.

Single Requests from an organization
- Please submit your completed Community Grant application and agreement form through our online procedures.
Multiple requests from a single organization
- Multiple applications from one organization need to be through a SINGLE CONTACT PERSON.
- EACH REQUEST MUST BE SUBMITTED SEPARATELY.
- Prioritize your requests.
- Limit of THREE (3) REQUESTS per organization.
Deadlines and pickup of awarded community grants
- Community grant requests must be submitted to the Fort Myer Thrift Shop no later than Thursday, March 26, 2026.
- Early submissions are encouraged and appreciated.
- Awarded community grant checks will be sent from/ready for pickup at the Fort Myer Thrift Shop no later than June 25, 2026.
