About the Fort Myer Thrift Shop

The Fort Myer Thrift Shop is a 501 exempt non-profit organization operating under the sponsorship of the
Army Officers' Wives' Club of the Greater Washington Area (AOWCGWA) Funds are raised through the sale
of donated items and a percentage taken from consigned items. Thrift shop profits (after expenses for
running the thrift shop have been made), are disbursed to the military community for educational and
charitable activities.

The Fort Myer Thrift Shop is located on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. The name of the base recently
changed from Fort Myer Military Installation to Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. You may find references to
the old and new base. The thrift shop name remains the same: AOWCGWA - Fort Myer Thrift Shop.

The thrift shop has a small staff of five people and many volunteers who help keep our thrift store organized
and running.
